Tuskers in the spotlight

This is one of my favorite pieces on handcraft from India. This herd of mommy and baby elephants was carved from a single stone. There's also an elephant inside the big elephant!

Poompuhar?

Arunz

nice one, a bit tricky lighting situation. red stands out keeping the actual subject a bit on the back burner.

Beautifull color, love the mono chromatic effect. Is the elephant also actually red?

ian, thanks. yeah ... i've seen those wooden ones as well .. wonder how they do it!

arunz .. thanks.. not poompuhar. VTI chennai i think.

srikanth .. yeah, ur right, it was tricky. but the elephant is made of a dull stone anyway :)

kaleidoscope, its coz of the lighting .. the elephant is actually kinda dull green.

Dull green?? unbelievable Kams. I like the table cloth's texture..:)

Oh!! this one reminds me of the one i had when i was 5yrs old.It was a sandalwood Elephant family.Good one.

Pratap

thanks Potpourri, Pratap and Lefiera!
